Dehradun, 9 Jun: A joint meeting of the two Doon based Toastmasters Clubs was conducted, here, today. The meeting was chaired by Dr Sanjay Goyal, President, Doon Valley Toastmasters Club. Dr Goyal welcomed all present and invited TM Robin to conduct the meeting.
‘Entrepreneurship’ was theme of the joint meeting. Robin Tyagi narrated his own story of entrepreneurial start-ups while still doing his engineering. Risk taking is very important in exploring any new area. Robin shared that he failed in both his first entrepreneurial ventures. He is currently experimenting with a new idea.
TM Ashima Sharma delivered her Icebreaker speech, in which she shared her life story. Born in a conservative family, she faced many hurdles in completing her higher education. She is now a proud mother of two daughters and an entrepreneur running a joint business with her husband.
The Table Topic segment of the meeting was conducted by TM Ahsan Ali. He provided the opportunity to Toastmasters and guests to speak for 1-2 minutes on famous quotes. TM Simran Paul from Chandigarh Toastmasters Club was voted as the best table topic speaker.
All speakers received helpful feedback from the General Evaluator, TM BP Kothiyal and his team of Evaluators – Dr Sanjay Goyal, Prashant Anand and Aryan Minocha. The next joint meeting of the clubs will be held on 16 June.
Harry Sethi, Area Director, announced that on 23 June, the Dehradun Toastmasters club will conduct its 200thmeeting. This is a very significant milestone that would be celebrated as a big event. It would be open to all. He invited all to join.
