Dehradun, 1 Sep: Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal today inspected the historic Town Hall of the Municipal Corporation, also known as known as Jugmandar Hall. This building is known as a heritage of the Municipal Corporation and has for years been a centre for the city’s social, cultural, and administrative events.

Currently, the Town Hall is undergoing maintenance and aesthetic enhancement work. The aim of this work is to give the hall a modern look while preserving its historical identity so that it can become more attractive, safe, and more useful with multi-purpose uses.

During the inspection, the Municipal Commissioner instructed the officials concerned to complete all the work with quality and within the stipulated time. She said that this building is not only the heritage of the Municipal Corporation but a heritage asset for the entire city of Dehradun, and therefore, no negligence in its beautification and strengthening will be tolerated.

The Nagar Nigam authorities claim that the initiative by the Municipal Corporation is an important step towards providing the city residents with a well-organised, modern, and culturally significant Town Hall. After the completion of the work, this place will regain its dignity as a major centre for cultural programmes, social events, and Municipal Corporation meetings.
