Dehradun, 3 May: The government has decided to permit plying of vehicles on the hill routes only between 4 a.m. and 10 p.m. every day. This decision has been taken keeping in view the convenience of devotees visiting the Chardham shrines.
Providing this information, Transport Commissioner Ranvir Singh Chouhan said that the Chardham Yatra has begun smoothly. He added that the Yatra this year is expected to attract a large number of pilgrims. As a result of the improvement and development on the Yatra route, it is expected to be a trouble free season for the pilgrims and, hopefully, they would be able to reach their destinations and return without much inconvenience.
He said that, in view of the large number of pilgrims expected, the government has allowed the vehicles on hill roads to operate from 4 a.m. till 10 p.m. The Transport Commissioner directed the department officers to ensure that there is no inconvenience to the devotees and passengers coming on the Chardham Yatra.
