Dehradun 23 Mar: Law College Dehradun, Uttaranchal University, organised a Tribute on the occasion of Martyrs Day in its campus, here, today. Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Devendra Pathak was present as the Chief Guest. At the outset, he offered flowers before the pictures of Shaheed-e- Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. He was followed by faculty members, non-teaching staff and hundreds of students. A joint chorus of Vande Mataram was sung on the occasion. Slogans were raised in the name of the martyrs of the Indian Freedom Movement.
In his address, Dean of the college, Dr Rajesh Bahuguna, remarked that the objective was to convey the inspirational memories of immortal martyrs of the nation to the younger generations. “This, in fact, is the moral responsibility of every educational institution,” he added.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Pathak observed that the three martyrs made the supreme sacrifice in the freedom movement. He stated it would be a befitting tribute to the martyrs by making the India of their dreams.
Also present were Dr Poonam Rawat, Dr Anil Dixit, Naresh Semwal, Mukul Rawat, Amit Chaudhary, Jagat Narayan, Dr JS Ojha, Abhiranjan Dixit, Sachin Bhardwaj, Ashwani Dwivedi, Dr Mayurakhi and a large number of students.
