New Delhi, 13 Aug: Haridwar MP and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat met Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah here today and held discussions on issues related to disaster‑affected regions of the state. The talks covered the Joshimath disaster, construction of a bailey bridge at Tamak Nala, the relief measures and the rehabilitation works, along with other matters concerning disaster‑hit areas of Uttarakhand.
On this occasion, Rawat emphasised on the need for swift relief, effective rehabilitation and long‑term sustainable solutions for the affected communities. He said that given the state’s difficult geographical conditions, the support of the central government is a major strength for Uttarakhand. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre has consistently stood firmly with the state in facing every challenge arising from natural disasters.
On this occasion, Garhwal MP Anil Baluni and Nainital MP Ajay Bhatt were also present.
