Dehradun, 25 Aug: The District Development Officer of Uttarkashi District, Vimal Kumar, has been arrested on charges of sexual assault on a woman Junior Engineer from Purola.
As per the complaint filed with the Police, the DDO promised to transfer the Junior Engineer at her request and had summoned her to a PWD Guest House where he was staying. Here, he allegedly pressurised her to have physical relations with him. 
On her refusal, he allegedly tried to molest her and establish physical relations with her. She, however, managed to escape from the guest house and later filed a complaint with the Police.
The Police registered an FIR under relevant provisions of the IPC. This morning, Kumar was arrested and presented before the Munsif Magistrate, who sent him to judicial custody.
