Dehradun, 20 Feb: BJP National Co-Treasurer and Rajya Sabha MP, Naresh Bansal has welcomed Uttarakhand’s first-ever budget exceeding Rs 1 lakh crores, calling it a roadmap for a self-reliant state poised to become a national leader.

In a statement issued today, Bansal claimed that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand is witnessing continuous development. He emphasised that the BJP fulfils its promises, ensuring steady progress across various sectors.

Describing the budget as a blueprint for the state’s all-round development, he highlighted its focus on agriculture, industry, energy, tourism, AYUSH, infrastructure, and connectivity. Provisions have been made for roads and bridges, with funds allocated for 37 new bridges and 4,000 km of roads, covering construction, maintenance, and security. The budget also earmarks Rs 2,000 crores for the Jal Jeevan Mission and urban water infrastructure, along with Rs 1,000 crores for key irrigation projects such as Jamrani, Song, and Lakhwad dams. He also added that an amount of Rs 500 crores has been set aside for startups, rural employment, climate change prevention, and women’s welfare schemes like Nanda Gauri, Matritva Vandan, and Vatsalya Yojana. Infrastructure development receives significant attention, with Rs 14,763.13 crores allocated in capital outlay, Rs 60 crore for climate change mitigation, Rs 15 crore for Khel Mahakumbh, Rs 10 crore for the Chief Minister’s Migration Prevention Scheme, Rs 60 crore for the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme, and Rs 600 crore for mega projects.

Bansal stressed that the budget ensures development across all sectors, providing essential public services, fostering industrial growth, strengthening infrastructure, promoting innovation, and generating large-scale employment. This will give new energy to the state’s economy, boost per capita income, and reflect the BJP-NDA government’s commitment to inclusive growth.

He congratulated Finance Minister Premchand Aggarwal, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and the cabinet for presenting a well-planned, inclusive budget for FY 2025-26.
