CM releases Curtain Raiser for 10th World Ayurveda Congress

Dehradun, 9 Dec: Describing Uttarakhand as the land of Yoga and AYUSH, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today highlighted the significance of the 10th World Ayurveda Congress to be held in Dehradun from 12 to 15 December. He stated that this global event aims to give a new identity to the state in the field of AyurvedaDhami emphasised that the discussions and deliberations at the event would awaken India and the world to the benefits of Ayurveda. He noted that people have witnessed the impact of Ayurveda and AYUSH during the COVID pandemic.
Releasing the curtain raiser and programme guide at the Media Centre Secretariat here today, Dhami mentioned that the event would help spread the message of “Sarve Santu Niramayah” to every household. He remarked that Uttarakhand has been a land of Ayurveda and wisdom since ancient times, with the state’s climate being perfectly suitable for medicinal plants. Dhami also expressed his commitment to making Uttarakhand a leader in every field.
The CM also recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message on State Formation Day, highlighting the ongoing development in Uttarakhand. He noted that the state’s development efforts have been appreciated by NITI Aayog, with Uttarakhand achieving the top position in the Sustainable Development Goals. He also reminded that Uttarakhand is globally renowned for its natural wealth, medicinal plants, and serene Himalayan environment. More than 300 international representatives from 58 countries, along with 6500 delegates and 2 lakh visitors from across India, are expected to participate in the Global Ayurveda Congress. The event would promote Uttarakhand as a major centre of Ayurveda and Wellness Tourism, spreading awareness about Ayurveda‘s benefits and fostering knowledge sharing, research collaboration, and business opportunities.
Dhami also spoke about the acceleration of AYUSH manufacturing, wellness, education, and agriculture sectors through the state’s AYUSH policy. He mentioned the ongoing work to establish the country’s first Yoga policy and the construction of three new 50-bed AYUSH hospitals in Tehri, Kotdwar, and Tanakpur. Additionally, 300 AYUSH-based Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have been established, and more than 150 AYUSH hospitals in the state have received NABH Accreditation.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Secretary Ravinath Raman, and Rajneesh Puranik, Trustee of the 10th World Ayurveda Congress, also expressed their views. The programme was compered by Director AYUSH Vijay Jogdande.
