Cong leaders pay tribute to martyrs of Mussoorie Firing Incident

Dehradun, 2 Sep: Congress leaders and the party workers gathered at the Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters here under the leadership of state president Ganesh Godiyal, on the anniversary of the Mussoorie firing incident to pay homage to the martyrs of the statehood movement who had lost their lives on 2 September 1994. The programme was attended by All India Congress Committee co‑in-charges Surendra Sharma and Manoj Yadav.

Offering floral tributes to those who had sacrificed their lives in the Mussoorie firing incident, Ganesh Godiyal said that the dream of Uttarakhand state was realised because of the supreme sacrifice of the martyrs. He emphasised that Uttarakhand is the legacy of those who gave everything for the cause of statehood, and their contribution can never be forgotten. He added that the people of Uttarakhand bow in reverence to their sacrifice and will remain forever indebted to them.

Among those present to pay homage included Congress State General Secretary (Organisation) Rajendra Bhandari, Pradesh Treasurer Godavari Thapli, General Secretaries Rajendra Shah and Naveen Joshi, Ashwini Bahuguna, Vinod Chauhan, Amarjit Singh, Pradesh Secretary Amendra Bisht, Yashpal Chauhan, Sanjay Kaddu, Rajiv Kumar, Mahendra Singh Negi, spokesperson Dr Pratima Singh, Shishpal Singh Bisht, Garima Dasauni, Metropolitan President Dr Jasvinder Singh Gogi, District President Pachhuwa Doon Sanjay Kishore, District President Parwa Doon Mohit Uniyal, Somendra Bohra, Vikas Negi, Chandrakala Negi, Pushpa Panwar and Scheduled Caste Cell President Madan Lal.
