Dehradun, 14 Jul: Increase in the number of Corona infected people in Uttarakhand is once again raising people’s concern. While this sharp increase in number of cases is seen across the country, Uttarakhand today recorded 99 fresh Covid cases in the past 24 hours.
According to the Health Bulletin released by the State Health Directorate, 99 fresh cases were reported today with Dehradun recording the maximum number of cases at 62.
Not only this, 2 deaths were also reported in the state due to Corona in the past 24 hours. One death was reported at Synergy Hospital and the second death was reported at AIIMS, Rishikesh.
The sample positivity rate in Uttarakhand has also gone up to 6.19 percent now. The total number of active cases of Corona in the state has gone up to 456 and, of them, 309 active cases are related to just Dehradun.
While 13 fresh cases were reported from Nainital district and 11 fresh cases in Haridwar, it appears that districts like Udham Singh Nagar which witness high movement in and out of the district and the state every day are not conducting enough tests. Udham Singh Nagar reported zero cases in past 24 hours even as Pithoragarh also reported 4 cases in the same period.
While 756 samples were sent for testing in Dehradun, 122 test reports are still awaited. In all, 270 test samples were taken in the state and await results on Thursday. Of them 76 samples are related to Udham Singh Nagar.
Meanwhile, 20,139 new cases of corona have been reported in the country during the past 24 hours, which are 3233 more patients than yesterday. Across the country, 38 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours due to Corona.
