Dehradun, 26 Jun: A delegation of the Uttarakhand Swabhiman Morcha, led by the Dehradun Metropolitan President Ramkumar Shankhdhar, met Superintendent of Police Rukmini Suhani and submitted a memorandum regarding the “Vasooli Gang Morcha” incident.
Shankhdhar informed the Superintendent of Police that, for the past few days, a Facebook page titled “Vasooli Gang Morcha” has been consistently attempting to tarnish the image of the Uttarakhand Swabhiman Morcha. He stated that this page is being operated by certain mischievous individuals who, through false and misleading content on social media, are trying to misguide the public.
The memorandum further highlighted that photographs of Morcha office-bearers have been shared on this suspicious page without their consent, causing harm to their social reputation and personal dignity.
The Uttarakhand Swabhiman Morcha demanded that an FIR be registered and strict legal action taken under the IT Act 2000 and Sections 499, 500, 505, and 66A of the Indian Penal Code.
The delegation included the Morcha’s Sainik Cell President Colonel Kailash Devrani (Retd), Vice President Rajendra Bhatt, Chitrapal Sajwan, Raipur Unit In-charge Anil Dobhal, Puran Singh Rawat, Hardev Panwar, and several senior workers.
The Uttarakhand Swabhiman Morcha made it clear that, if any organisation or individual attempts to mislead the public under the guise of freedom of expression, stringent action would be taken against them through democratic and legal means.
