Dehradun, 28 Oct: The book, ‘From the Pen of Surgeons’, written by Padma Shri awardee Dr BKS Sanjay, and Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr Gaurav Sanjay, was released by Union Minister of Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, former Union Education Minister and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal “Nishank”, and Union Minister of State for Road Transport and National Highways, Ajay Tamta, at India’s first Writers’ Village in the presence of special guests Speaker Ritu Khanduri, Swami Chidananda Saraswati, Santosh Taneja, Chairman, Sankalp Foundation, Santosh Chaubey, Chancellor, Tagore University and other national international literary dignitaries.
The authors are world famed renowned orthopaedic surgeons. They emphasised that food, education and health are the basic needs of every person. The book covers various health, education, nutrition and other social issues prevailing in India. The general public needs to be made aware of their importance. The authors of the book believe that there is need to change the mindset of the general public towards these issues. For any change, books play an important role in changing knowledge and thoughts.
The preface of this book has been written by the former Director of Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy and historian, former IAS officer Dr Sanjeev Chopra. The foreword has been written by the Secretary General of Rajya Sabha, PC Modi. The book has been published by Prabhat Prakashan and is available on various online portals.
