Dehradun, 20 Jun: Former MP and President, Rash Behari Bose Memorial
Committee, Tarun Vijay met Union Minister of Environment and Forest Bhupinder Yadav and urged him to allow installation of a grand statuette of famous revolutionary and Founder of Azad Hind Fauj (INA) Rash Behari Bose in the campus of FRI, where he worked as head clerk for eight long years between 1906 and 1914.
Tarun Vijay said that Bhupinder Yadav was very positive and assured active consideration of the formal request submitted by him. He said the entire FRI campus is full of roads dedicated to British officers which is against PM’s vision of decolonisation. A prominent road must be named after Rash Behari Bose who formed INA and handed it over to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. He also demanded that Ghosi Gali also be renamed as Rash Behari Bose Puram.
Tarun Vijay is also writing a book on Bose.
Vijay said it is ironic that a great revolutionary like Rash Behari Bose, who lived eight years in Dehradun’s Ghosi Gali and cycled daily to FRI, was responsible for recruiting new members to his revolutionary group, finds no honourable mention by the State Government, and his several letters to the Governor and CM in this regard have yielded no response.
