Mumbai, 22 Jan: Squash player Unnati Tripathi delivered a commanding performance at the Little Masters Willingdon Open 2026, clinching both the Girls Under-19 title and the Women’s title at the prestigious tournament held from 16 to 20 January at the historic Willingdon Sports Club, Mumbai.

The first-year student of Graphic Era University, Dehradun, Unnati showcased exceptional form and maturity throughout the event. She dominated the Girls U-19 final, defeating Esha Srivastava of Pune in straight games (3–0). Carrying the same momentum into the senior category, she went on to win the Women’s final, overcoming Anika Dubey of Mumbai with a composed 3–1 victory.

The tournament witnessed participation from 507 players across 20 categories, representing 21 states, highlighting the depth and competitiveness of the field. This triumph is particularly significant for Unnati, as it marks a strong comeback following her earlier loss to Anika Dubey at the Junior National Championships in October 2025.

Unnati’s double title win at the Willingdon Open reflects her resilience, disciplined training, and growing confidence on the national stage. With her sights firmly set on the future, she is now preparing for major international events in 2026, including the Asian Junior Championship, Asian Senior Championship, World Junior Championship, and the Asian Games, aiming to secure selection and bring international medals home for India.
