Dehradun, 26 Apr: “Literary Expedition”, the first ever-literary festival, was organised under the aegis of Connoisseur-the Literary Club in UPES, here. This colloquium of creative talent, celebrated a plethora of events in the Bidholi campus. The Fest saw storytellers narrate interesting stories and later breathe more life into their stories by writing them out in the event titled “Pen it Down”. “Turncoat Debate” was an event in which students got the opportunity to leverage and exhibit their persuasive skills.
“Abhivyakti”and “Chase to Cut” were poster making and short film making competitions in which students expressed their multi-talented facets. “Be the Change you want to see in the World” grabbed the attention of everyone, winning many a heart. Adding flavour to all these parallel events was the ‘Book Exhibition’ which had on display literary books in English, Hindi and Urdu.
The show-stopper of the event of the fest was a grand poetry session, ‘Mehfil-e-Sukhan’. The Chief Guest was Dr Jaskiran Chopra from Doon University, who is also a well-known Urdu poet and an experienced writer of Doon Valley.
Club President Gautam Rajpal and Harsh Prashar led the student organising committee. The faculty Coordinators of the Club, Dr Shalini Vohra and Dr Pooja Gupta put in efforts to make the event a success. They were assisted by Dr Rati Oberoi, Brahmleen and Pravin Dagdee.
Also present were Dr SJ Chopra, Chancellor; Dr Deependra Kumar Jha, Vice Chancellor; Arun Dhand, Senior Director Public Affairs; Dr Kamal Bansal, Dr Suresh Kumar, Dr Sanjeev Kumar and several faculty members of the University.
