DEHRADUN, 13 Sept: Uttaranchal University has inaugurated internal hackathon on Saturday, at the campus for the students of the disciplinary domain of the University. 700+ students participated in the event, who will be solving the problem statements given by the Government agencies, PSU and state governments.
Smart India Hackathon (SIH) is a nationwide initiative designed to engage students in solving some of the most pressing challenges faced in everyday life. Launched to foster a culture of innovation and practical problem-solving, SIH provides a dynamic platform for students to develop and showcase their creative solutions to real-world problems. By encouraging participants to think critically and innovatively, the hackathon aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application.
The event was inaugurated by Uttaranchal University president Jitender Joshi, along with Vice Chancellor Dharam Buddhi, Director Research & Innovation Rajesh Singh, Special Guest Surindra Suthar from Doon University and Isha Ahuja Batra from Avlokan Transforming Minds by lighting the lamp. President Jitendra Joshi motivated the students to participate in the events and coming up with innovative solutions to problem statements and encouraged them to file patents and ensured every possible support for the betterment of students’ growth.
Vice Chancellor Dharam Buddhi addressed the gathering and shared his views on the social impact of the solutions on society. He extended his best wishes to the students and shared his view on innovation and individual strength. Director of Research & Innovation Rajesh Singh announced the event and discussed its importance for students. He shared a few interesting problem statements from SIH and encouraged students to participate.
Director UIT Sumit Chaudhary, Director USCS Sonal Sharma and Director SLA Shalini Vohra, Joint Director Anita Gehlot, and Jury members, were also present in the event.
