Victory of Cong in byelection is win for democracy: Karan Mahara

Dehradun, 13 Jul: Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee President Karan Mahara has congratulated the people and the Congress workers of Badrinath and Manglaur assembly constituencies on the victory of both Congress candidates in the byelections. He said that this victory is the victory of I.N.D.I. Alliance. All the allies of the alliance have contributed to this victory and in future also the alliance will together continue to struggle to save democracy with unity. The Alliance will collectively face the coming challenges. Karan Mahara said that this victory is the victory of keeping the constitution and democracy alive. On this occasion, Karan Mahara congratulated the senior leaders and workers of Congress and all the alliance organisations and said that everyone has worked day and night to ensure victory of Congress candidates in both the assemblies and everyone deserves congratulations for this.

On this occasion, Mahara expressed his happiness by distributing crackers and sweets at Congress Bhawan Dehradun on the victory of party candidate Lakhpat Butola from Badrinath and party candidate Qazi Nizamuddin from Manglaur and he also thanked the President of All India Congress Committee, Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, State In-charge Kumari Shailaja and Co In-charge Deepika Pandey Singh for their successful guidance during the elections. Mahara claimed that under the successful leadership of President of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Mallikarjun Kharge and popular leader Rahul Gandhi, the Congress Party is continuously struggling in the country and is creating new dimensions in political discourse every day. He said that the entire state has seen the way the police administration worked to influence the elections at the behest of the state government. The claimed that the miscreants of BJP who openly fired bullets during voting in Mangalore Assembly are still roaming freely. Those people have not been arrested till now which he claimed is a matter of concern. The PCC Chief also claimeid that ever since the BJP government has come to power at the centre, there has been an atmosphere of anarchy in the country. He said that the Modi government wants to grab power at any cost by intimidating the opposition, which the people of the country will never allow to happen.

Mahara said that the BJP leaders are experts in making a mountain out of a molehill, power can be achieved only once by telling lies. He said that the Congress is the only party that can bind the country together and keep the concept of ‘Sarvadharma Sambhav’ alive. On this occasion former Minister Heera Singh Bisht, MLA Vikram Singh Negi, State Congress Committee Vice President Organization/Administration Mathura Dutt Joshi, Suryakant Dhasmana, Amarjit Singh, Puran Singh Rawat, General Secretary Naveen Joshi, Chief Spokesperson Garima Mahara Dasauni, Spokesperson Sheeshpal Singh Bisht, Godavari Thapali, Virendra Pokhriyal, Praveen Tyagi, Manvendra Singh, Mahanagar Congress Committee President Dr Jaswinder Singh Gogi and Abhinav Thapar were among those present.
