DEHRADUN, 24 Apr: The country is locked down due to the corona pandemic, but some initiatives to keep people engaged and positive are coming up, one of which is a two-day Virtual Literature Festival being organised on Instagram by Anurag Chauhan, the founder of ‘Humans For Humanity’ & the ‘Dehradun Literature Festival’. In a bid to ensure that a larger audience gets to enjoy the festival, the annual event will take place on 25 & 26 April, live on Instagram – @anuragchauhanofficial.
“To bring the people out of the feeling of fatigue that they are experiencing and the psychological strain, I thought of organising this event. I am sure this phase shall pass too and, once it passes, the feelings of despondency will leave. This is something new for the people who love literature and also for those who do not, as we all will leave with a learning experience,” says Chauhan.
The festival will be held between 3 and 8 p.m. on Instagram live. The list of speakers includes author Shobha De, actress Lisa Ray, singer Dr Soma Ghosh, Art Scholar & Director of JNCC – Moscow Dr Usha RK, beauty & wellness expert Vasudha Rai, Bollywood choreographer Sandip Soparrkar, musician Brian Silas, acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, India’s first female Dastangoi artist Fouzia Dastango and poet Apurva Bikram Shah. All the speakers will be in conversation with Anurag Chauhan.
There has been a sudden rise in the cases of depression and loneliness, this event should lighten the load. The link to join the sessions is –
