Gov boosts morale of ITBP, Army & BRO soldiers in Malari

DEHRADUN/CHAMOLI, 28 Sep: Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) on Thursday met ITBP, Army and BRO soldiers at Malari, adjacent to the Tibet border in Chamoli district. During the tour of this strategically important area, the Governor encouraged the soldiers and said that in difficult circumstances in the high mountain areas, the soldiers perform their duties with selfless service. Because of them, the people and the country are safe. He also discussed with the soldiers about their problems and challenges.

Governor Singh said that the border residents are ‘our border guards’. The borders cannot be kept safe without keeping the border villages safe. Under the Vibrant Village Scheme, efforts are being made to provide water, electricity, roads, health, communication and other basic facilities in the border villages.

After meeting the soldiers at the border, the Governor reached Badrinath Dham. While worshipping Lord Badri Vishal in the temple, he prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the country and the state. The temple committee and priests welcomed Lt General Singh by presenting him with Angavastram, Tulsi garland and Prasad. He also interacted with the devotees and took stock of the travel arrangements.

Singh also inquired about the progress of reconstruction works being conducted under the master plan at the BRO Guest House in Badrinath. He said that the way the reconstruction work of the Prime Minister’s ambitious project Badrinath Master Plan is being carried forward rapidly is highly praiseworthy and commendable. For this, everyone including the entire administration team deserves congratulations. He said that, in the coming times, Badrinath Dham would look even more divine and grand.

District Magistrate Himanshu Khurana, Superintendent of Police Rekha Yadav, ADM Dr Abhishek Tripathi, Joint Magistrate Dr Deepak Saini, CO, Police, Natasha Singh, etc., were present on the occasion.
