Welham Boys’ School Squash Team excels in State Championship

Dehradun, 4 May: The Welham Boys’ School squash team delivered an impressive performance at the Uttarakhand State Squash Championships 2026 held at the IIT Roorkee Sports Complex on 2–3 May, securing 6 gold and 4 silver medals.

Among the standout performers, Lavit Agarwal (U-15) staged a remarkable come back to win the final 3–2 against RIMC’s Ayush. Atulit Tripathi clinched gold in the U-17 category and also defeated India Rank 30 Tarun Gosai, 3–0, in the men’s category.

In team events, Welham narrowly lost 2–1 to Rashtriya Indian Military College in the U-15 final but emerged victorious in the men’s final, defeating The Doon School, 2–1. The entire Welham Squash team performed extremely well.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Prof Bhanu Prakash Vellanki (IIT Chairman), Dr Panday (IIT Sports Officer), Dr RKS Dagar (Patron), and Sanchit Dagar (General Secretary).
