Dehradun, 18 Jun: Following the directions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Uttarakhand Police Headquarters continues with the process of promotions with emphasis on morale and welfare of personnel. In the latest round, 15 sub‑inspectors (SIs) from the civil police and intelligence cadre have been promoted to the rank of police inspector. In this regard, Director General of Police Deepam Seth today congratulated the promoted officers and staff and noted that timely promotions enhance efficiency and boost morale. Seth also reiterated the department’s commitment to a transparent and time‑bound promotion system.
The DGP has also noted that the years 2025 and 2026 have been particularly significant for departmental promotions in Uttarakhand Police. In 2025, more than 1,000 personnel were promoted, while in 2026 so far 580 have received promotions. Altogether, 1,640 officers and employees across the civil police, intelligence, armed police, telecommunications and fire services have benefitted from promotions in the past two years.
In 2026 alone, major promotions have included 13 deputy superintendents of police (junior pay scale), 2 deputy superintendents (ministerial), 26 inspectors, 144 sub‑inspectors, 63 additional or assistant sub‑inspectors and 332 head constables. The DGP has also praised the efforts of the Home and Personnel Department of the state government and the personnel section of Police Headquarters for completing the promotion process within the stipulated timeframe.
