Dehradun, 26 Sep: The Higher Education Department has dismissed four Assistant Professors who have been illegally absent from government colleges for an extended period. The order was issued following the approval of Departmental Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat.
Prior to the issuance of the order, the department sent multiple notices to the four Assistant Professors, but none responded or provided any justification for their prolonged absence.
This stated to be part of the state government’s commitment to improving the quality of education and academic environment in higher educational institutions. In addition to structural reforms in government universities and colleges, efforts are being made to address the shortage of teachers. The government is also taking a firm stand against negligent officials and employees.
The dismissed Assistant Professors include Indrajeet Singh, Dr Nandini Singh, AK Rai, and Dr Naresh Mohan Chadda. Indrajeet Singh and Dr Naresh Mohan Chadda have been absent since 2004 and 2003, respectively, while Dr Nandini Singh and AK Rai have been absent since 2004. They were issued warning letters and were asked to rejoin duty within fifteen days, but none responded to the departmental notices, which were also published in newspapers.
“The strict action taken against these four Assistant Professors who have been unlawfully absent for several years reflects our zero tolerance for negligence and indiscipline in higher educational institutions. Such actions will continue against negligent personnel in the future,” stated Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, Minister of Higher Education, Uttarakhand Government.
