Dehradun, 30 Jul: Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi today held a press conference at the Secretariat Media Centre regarding the upcoming release of the 20th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 2 August.
Addressing the media, Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi stated that on 2 August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 20th instalment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi from Banoli village in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. He stated that under the 20th instalment, a total of Rs 184.25 crore will be transferred to 8,28,787 beneficiaries in Uttarakhand. He added that, so far, a total of Rs 3,111.49 crore has been distributed to Uttarakhand farmers across the previous 19 instalments.
Minister Joshi announced that the state-level programme will be organised at Harbans Kapoor Memorial Hall, Garhi Cantt, Dehradun. Additionally, events will be held at the state, block, VNO/village, KVK, and central agricultural institution levels. These venues will be connected through two-way video conferencing, allowing farmers to directly interact with the Prime Minister. The Minister urged farmers to participate in the programme in large numbers.
Highlighting the Prime Minister’s commitment to farmers, Minister Joshi said that, after becoming the Prime Minister for the third time, Narendra Modi signed the very first Cabinet decision in favour of the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, reflecting his concern for farmers’ welfare.
On this occasion, Agriculture Secretary SN Pandey, Director General, Agriculture, Ranveer Singh Chauhan, Director, Agriculture, KC Pathak, and other officials were also present.
