Dehradun, 3 Jun: The much-awaited 1st Uttarakhand Table Tennis League 2026, presented by Field Crop and organised by the Doon Youth Foundation, commenced at The TonsBridge School, on Tuesday. The three-day tournament will be held from 2 to 4 June 2026 and brings together some of the finest table tennis talent from across Uttarakhand.
A total of 10 teams are participating in the inaugural edition of the league: Almora Fighters; Nainital Spinners; Haridwar Hurricanes; Pithoragarh Pride; Pauri Panthers; Udham Singh Nagar Lions; Rudraprayag Ninjas; Chamoli Challengers; Tehri Titans; and Dehradun Shamshers.

The matches are being conducted on league basis having 3 matches in each category viz Men Singles, Women Singles, Youth Boys Singles, Youth Girls Singles, Men Doubles, Mixed Doubles & Men Singles (Reverse) having total 21 games on four competition tables, ensuring a fast-paced and exciting tournament schedule.
The Opening Ceremony was graced by Vijay Nagar, Chairman of The TonsBridge School, who welcomed distinguished guests KK Sharma, Treasurer of the Uttarakhand Table Tennis Association, Prince Vipon, Indian Table Tennis Coach, and Vipin Mehra, Tournament Referee and Asia’s first Gold Badge Referee.
The dignitaries participated in a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolising the commencement of the event, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The league was then officially declared Open, marking the beginning of a landmark event for table tennis in Uttarakhand.
The Uttarakhand Table Tennis League aims to provide a professional platform for players, promote grassroots development of the sport, and inspire young athletes across the state. The tournament is expected to witness high-quality competition and enthusiastic support from table tennis lovers throughout Uttarakhand.
The opening day featured league-stage encounters. Pauri Panthers defeated Udham Singh Nagar Lions by 12-9 (out of 21 games). Pithoragarh Pride defeated Haridwar Hurricanes by 11-10 games. Chamoli Challengers defeated Rudraprayag Ninja by 14-7 games. Almora Fighters defeated Nainital Spinners by 11-10 games.
On day two, Rudraprayag Ninja defeated Nainital Spinners by 12-9 games. Haridwar Hurricanes defeated Udham Singh Nagar by 11-10 games. Pauri Panthers defeated Dehradun Smashers by 12-9 games. The final will be held tomorrow.
