CS reviews progress of projects inaugurated by PM, directs timely completion

Dehradun, 30 Jun: Chief Secretary (CS) Anand Bardhan reviewed the progress of projects inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at the Secretariat here today. During the meeting, he examined in detail the status of all the 40 ongoing projects and directed the officials to ensure regular monitoring and timely completion.

The CS also instructed all the secretaries concerned to conduct periodic reviews and upload the progress reports on the portal without delay. He emphasised that project updates must include the expected date of completion and said that works scheduled to finish by the end of this year should be closely monitored during the monsoon season to avoid delays.

Bardhan also directed the Tourism Department to prioritise the construction of integrated infrastructure at Mahasu Devta, Hanol, and the works related to Jageshwar Dham temple, with daily reviews to ensure completion within the stipulated timeframe. He also asked the Urban Development Department to expedite projects in Dehradun related to water supply, sewerage and drainage systems through regular monitoring.

The CS also directed the energy department to accelerate work on the Lakhwar multipurpose project (300 MW), the 220 kV Banbasa substation (100 MVA) and its transmission line, the 400 kV Pipalkoti switching substation in Chamoli and its transmission line, as well as the 220 kV Ghansali substation in Tehri district. He stressed that the forest clearances and land transfer issues must be pursued in line with timelines and monitored continuously.

Bardhan said that the projects nearing completion should be taken up on priority and finished at the earliest. He directed departments to complete 73 drinking water supply schemes across 13 districts, 133 roads under PMGSY (96 per cent complete), 151 bridges (97 per cent complete), and river rejuvenation works in Udham Singh Nagar under the Namami Gange programme (98 per cent complete) without delay.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretaries RK Sudhanshu, L Fanai, R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretaries Shailesh Bagauli, Dilip Jawalkar, Dr BVRC Purushottam, Ravinath Raman, Ranjit Kumar Sinha, Dr R Rajesh Kumar, Surendra Narayan Pandey, C Ravishankar, Yugal Kishore Pant, Ranveer Singh Chauhan and Rajendra Kumar along with heads of concerned departments.
