RISHIKESH, 4 Jul: Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami jointly laid foundation stones and inaugurated schemes worth Rs 219.29 crore at the Seva Pakhwara event in Rishikesh on Saturday.
A total of 38 projects with an investment of Rs 172.78 crore were launched through foundation stones. These include road and drainage works such as Rs 61.87 lakh for interlocking tiles from Lalit Mohan Bhadola’s house to Bhadrakali temple in Bhagwanpur, Rs 66.41 lakh for surface improvement on Malasi link road, Rs 132.52 lakh for internal roads in Doon Vihar, Rs 210.61 lakh for Vilaspur main road to Vilaspur Enclave, and Rs 181.74 lakh for internal roads and drains in Salawala. Major bridge works include Rs 541.28 lakh for a 20-metre RCC girder bridge on New Cant Road, Mussoorie, and Rs 536.10 lakh for a 30-metre PSC girder bridge on the same road. Flood protection and river channelisation schemes include Rs 775.77 lakh for reconstruction of disaster-affected roads in Raipur Mandal, Rs 611.54 lakh for cleaning and embankment works along the Asan river in Harbhajwala, Rs 246.14 lakh for channelisation of the Song river near Oasis School, Rs 321.84 lakh for flood safety along Suswa river, Rs 412.70 lakh for flood protection along Dulanhi river, Rs 460.45 lakh for drains in Defence Colony and Jogiwala, and Rs 422.53 lakh for flood safety from Lohe bridge to Song bridge. Canal restoration schemes include Rs 344.33 lakh for Chhidrawala, Khadri and Gulrani canals, Rs 438.33 lakh for Bullawala canal, Rs 207.82 lakh for minors in Doiwala, Rs 418.83 lakh for Bullawala command canals, Rs 238.34 lakh for Dhalani canal in Vikasnagar, Rs 99.06 lakh for Sunoda pipe canal in Chakarata, Rs 79.78 lakh for Banpur and Shedia canals, Rs 97.15 lakh for Dasau pipe canal, and Rs 92.98 lakh for strengthening Kanwali canal. Other works include Rs 21.04 lakh for developing Amrit Sarovar at Khadri Khadkmaf for tourism, Rs 250 lakhs for construction of PMU office building of Horticulture Integrated Development Society, Rs 33.05 lakh for reconstruction of Government Primary School Badri Pur, Rs 489.04 lakh for gaushala at Majri in Doiwala, Rs 190.59 lakh for gaushala at Bhopalpani in Raipur, Rs 5102 lakh for LED street lighting from Dehradun to Mussoorie, Rs 2,750 lakh for strengthening ISBT Dehradun, and Rs 499.50 lakh for landscaping of Jhadipani track in Mussoorie.
In addition, 13 projects worth Rs 46.50 crore were inaugurated. These include Rs 60.65 lakh for a link road from Government Higher Secondary School to Kund Gharat in Raipur, Rs 62.77 lakh for internal roads in Rani Pokhri, Rs 70.75 lakh for PC and interlocking tiles on Haridwar main road in Doiwala, Rs 625.40 lakh for a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital in Doiwala, Rs 180.28 lakh for video conferencing facilities at Sudhowala jail, Rs 128.21 lakh for building construction at Government Girls Inter College Ajabpur Kala, Rs 205.12 lakh for new canals in Miyanwala, Rs 449.48 lakh for upgradation of Dharakot–Ladwakot motor road, Rs 752 lakh for bathing ghat at Haripur Kalasi, Rs 247.60 lakh for park development near Rispana river in Mussoorie, Rs 390 lakh for landscaping near Miyanwala Panchayat Ghar, Rs 863.80 lakh for beautification of Johdi land in Miyanwala, and Rs 614.33 lakh for landscaping and artificial lake development at Gauradevi Park in Raipur. These 51 projects represent a significant investment in infrastructure, flood safety, irrigation, education, tourism, animal welfare and urban development.
