Dehradun, 23 Jul: Chief Secretary (CS) Anand Bardhanb today held a coordination meeting with the departments concerned to establish a unified, efficient and time-bound emergency response system. These steps are in line with the Supreme Court’s directives to ensure swift and effective trauma care for road accident victims.
During the meeting, the CS emphasised on strict compliance with the court’s instructions and directed that all the emergency helplines be technically and operationally integrated with the single emergency helpline 112. He said that once the integration is complete, police, fire and medical services would be accessible immediately through helpline 112, with an automatic mechanism ensuring assistance without human intervention.
Bardhan also directed that nodal officers be designated for the Good Samaritan grievance redressal mechanism, with the Director General Health at the state level and Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) at the district level, and that monthly meetings be held with proceedings uploaded on the portal. He further directed that all the public and private ambulances comply with AIS-125 standards and be equipped with GPS and VLT devices, with real-time integration through helpline 112 for effective monitoring.
He further stated that the Transport Department would act as the nodal agency for trauma registry, establishing a state-level registry and integrating all medical institutions with it, while also linking it to the national trauma registry. He stressed on full implementation of the PM-RAHAT scheme to ensure timely relief.
Among those present at the meeting were Secretary Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Additional Secretaries Vineet Kumar, Rohit Meena and Tripti Bhatt, along with Joint Transport Commissioner Sanat Kumar Singh and other senior officials.
