Dehradun, 11 Aug: A joint mobile court will be organised in the district in September 2026 to ensure speedy redressal of the complaints and the problems of persons with disabilities and to provide them the benefits of their rights and legal protection. The initiative is being undertaken under the joint aegis of the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of India, and the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Uttarakhand.
The office of the Chief Commissioner has directed wide publicity across all the districts so that maximum participation of persons with disabilities can be ensured and their grievances presented before the mobile court. District Social Welfare Officer, Dehradun, Dipankar Ghildiyal has directed all the Assistant Social Welfare Officers to disseminate the information about the programme in their respective areas among persons with disabilities, organisations and stakeholders. He has also directed that necessary details of complaints and problems, along with mobile numbers, be collected in advance.
In the joint mobile court, persons with disabilities will be able to present grievances related to disability rights, government schemes, facilities, disability certificates, pensions, assistive devices, rehabilitation and other connected issues. The cases received will be taken up for disposal at the competent level. The District Social Welfare Officer has also appealed to the people with disabilities in the district to participate in large numbers once the date and venue are finalised and to submit their complaints along with disability certificates. Complaint letters may also be submitted at the office of the Block Development Officer or the District Social Welfare Department.
The date, venue and other details of the joint mobile court will be announced separately and disseminated widely to ensure that persons with disabilities are able to avail themselves of the opportunity for timely resolution of their grievances and access to entitlements.
