Dehradun, 14 Aug: Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) has expressed grief over the demise of Shanta Devi, mother of Dainik Jagran editor Manoj Jha, praying for peace to the departed soul and conveying condolences to the bereaved family. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also expressed deep sorrow, stating that the Almighty may grant strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
Director General Information Bansidhar Tiwari too has expressed shock over the passing away of Shanta Devi, mother of Manoj Jha and has extended condolences to the grieving family.
The Uttaranchal Press Club has also mourned the passing away of Manoj Jha’s mother, recalling her as a source of inspiration for the family. It may be noted that Shanta Devi, aged 92, passed away at the family residence in MDDA Society, ISBT Dehradun. The mortal remains were later cremated in Haridwar this afternoon in the presence of relatives and well wishers.
