Dehradun, 21 Mar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today chaired a review of ongoing development projects and works related to all assembly constituencies falling in the Tehri Lok Sabha constituency. During the meeting at his official residence today, the CM directed that officers should quickly solve the problems being raised by the MLAs regarding their constituencies and ensure that there is no unnecessary delay in completion of works. He also said that small problems that can be solved at the local level should be dealt with there and not reach the high level meetings. Dhami asserted that the District Magistrate should diagnose the local problems at the district level and resolve them as soon as possible. He also said that the works prioritised by the local MLAs should be given due priority.
Dhami added that special attention should be paid to simplification of procedures for quick resolution of public problems. Secretaries in charge of various departments should regularly review their departments to solve the problems of the assembly constituencies. The secretaries given charge of various districts should also regularly review the progress of development works in the districts under their charge. He said that the development works in various assembly constituencies would be reviewed every three months.
Chief Minister Dhami asserted that there are immense possibilities in the horticulture, agriculture and tourism sectors in Uttarakhand. Sincere work should be done to increase the livelihood of the people in these sectors so that the migration from the hills could be curbed and more self employment opportunities made available to the youth. The CM also stressed on greater focus on the Apple and Kiwi missions in the hills. Availability of improved varieties of seeds and plants for horticulture and farming should be ensured to the farmers. More efforts are needed to give a rapid boost to the state’s economy. The Chief Minister instructed the officials that, in view of the upcoming summer season, proper arrangements should be ensured for regular supply of drinking water.
The MLAs apprised the CM and senior officers about the issues and suggestions pertaining to their respective constituencies regarding construction of roads, further improvement of health facilities, flood protection work, drinking water, garbage disposal, drainage and sewerage problems. The Chief Minister directed the officers to take serious note of the public problems raised by the legislators and resolve them at the earliest.
