Dehradun, 23 Oct: The 25th Junior Sports Day at The Asian School here, today, was a vibrant tapestry woven with threads of athleticism, camaraderie and academic excellence.

Present at the Silver Jubilee celebration of The Asian School as the Chief Guest was Meenakshi Soti, with Captain Rohit Soti, an alumna of Devi Ahilya University, Indore, the founder Principal of the illustrious Doon Heritage School, Dehradun. She is an educationist with over 20 years of experience in teaching and school administration.

The sports day featured a diverse array of races for students of all ages which included 25 m, 50 m, 80 m, 100 m and relay races. From the exhilarating sprints of the older students to the playful “Cinderella” and “Royal Prince Race” for Pre-Primary children, the event catered to every age group. The cheerleading squad further added to the enthusiasm and the spirit of the Sports Day.

The students of Classes 4 and 5 demonstrated a Zumba Dance, which communicated the importance of fitness and health. Students of the Primary wing showcased their talent and skill through an amalgamation of yoga and sports in the form of a Multi Sports Drill.

A fun-filled race for parents, aptly named “Gear Up and Drive!”, encouraged active participation from the guardians, fostering a sense of camaraderie and setting a positive example for their children.

The Chief Guest lauded the efforts of all involved, emphasising the importance of sports in fostering a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

The energetic performances left the audience spellbound, earning the school accolades and recognition. The Principal of The Asian School, Ruchi Pradhan Datta, proposed the vote of thanks.

The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Director Gaganjyot Juneja and Vartika Sah, Principal Ruchi Pradhan Datta and Colonel Sumit Datta, Head of Senior School Mukesh Nangia, Headmistress Prachi Mehrotra, Dy Head Surbhi Narula, Manager of Administration Sandesh Sharma, Dean of Activities Shweta Matta, Head of Residence Subhash Sharma and Head of Sports Sanjay Kumar Rana.
