Dehradun, 24 Oct: The Dehradun Private Schools’ Association, Uttarakhand, Basketball Tournament – Junior Boys (Under 14) was hosted by Hilton’s School, here.
The Tournament featured eight teams competing in matches organised on a league – cum – knockout basis. The tournament was held from 21 to 23 October and played at Hilton’s School and Raja Rammohan Roy Academy.
The Oasis, St Thomas’ College, St Jude’s School, St Xavier’s School, Shiwalik International School, St Patrick’s Academy, Doon Blossoms School and Hilton’s School participated in the tournament.
In the first Semi-Final match, Doon Blossoms School emerged as winners with the score of 51 -14 against St Thomas’ College. In the second Semi-Final match, St Patrick’s Academy won with a score of 49-37 against Hilton’s School.
The final match was held between Doon Blossoms School and St Patrick’s Academy.
In a remarkable display of skill, stamina and teamwork, Doon Blossoms School emerged as Champions in a highly competitive tournament final with a score of 44 – 20. The Runners up team was St Patrick’s Academy.
Abhijeet Bist of Doon Blossoms School and Pratham of St Patrick’s Academy were awarded the ‘Most Promising Player of the Tournament Award’.
Vivaan of St Jude’s School and Pranjal of Hilton’s School were presented the ‘Upcoming Star Player of the Tournament Award’.
Dr Anuj S Singh, Principal of Prakriti Valley School and President of DDPSA was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He gave away the trophies and prizes and congratulated the Winning and Runners-up teams. The Principal, David J Hilton, thanked the officials of Dehradun Basketball Association, Uttarakhand, and appreciated the
sportsmanship of all the participating schools.
