Dehradun, 21 Nov: Young mountaineer Sheetal met Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Raj Bhavan, here, today.
Sheetal, a resident of Pithoragarh district, recently successfully summited Mount Cho Oyu (8,188 metres) in China. She has been honoured with the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award, Kumaon Award, and Tilu Rauteli Award. Her achievement has brought pride to Uttarakhand, and her determination and courage have inspired youth across the country.
The Governor appreciated Sheetal’s achievements and praised her spirit and resolve, calling her an inspiration for the daughters of the state. He stated that despite facing adverse conditions, Sheetal never gave up and, through her dedication and hard work, has accomplished remarkable feats. The Governor emphasized that there is no lack of talent and determination in women; they just need the right guidance and can achieve any goal they set. He wished Sheetal a bright future and assured her of all possible support.
