CMOs asked to prepare Action Plan for 100% Ayushman Card distribution: Dr Dhan Singh Rawat

Dehradun, 27 Nov: An action plan will be prepared for preparing Ayushman cards for all the people in every district. In this regard, all Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) of the districts have been instructed to take necessary steps. The special campaign will run until 31 March 2025, and will focus on creating cards for people aged 70 and above. Additionally, officials have been directed to develop a strategy to increase the number of patients receiving treatment under the Ayushman Scheme in government medical colleges and hospitals. During the meeting, practical difficulties related to the Golden Card were also addressed.

Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, Minister for Health, Medical Education, and Health Services, today reviewed various health services in the State Health Authority’s conference hall. Dr Rawat reprimanded the CMOs of districts with slow progress in issuing Ayushman cards and directed them to prepare a concrete action plan for 100% coverage of Ayushman cards in the state. He mentioned that the goal is to create Ayushman cards for 97.11 lakh people from 23.89 lakh families, out of which 53.61 lakh cards have already been issued, and 4.73 lakh Golden Cards have been made. Additionally, nearly 2,000 Ayushman cards have been created for people aged 70 and above.

Dr Rawat explained that 12.32 lakh individuals have availed the benefits of the Ayushman scheme, and Rs 2,289 crores have been spent on it so far. Over a lakh Golden Cardholders have also benefited under the scheme. He directed the officials to run a special campaign until March 31 to issue as many Ayushman cards as possible, with support from CHOs, ANMs, ASHAs, and Ayushman Mitras. Secretary of Health and Chairman of the State Health Authority will conduct virtual meetings with district officers and CMOs to review the campaign.

 

At the meeting, Dr Rawat also instructed officials to develop better strategies for increasing patient treatment under the Ayushman Scheme in government medical colleges and hospitals. The meeting addressed issues with the Golden Card, improvements in the 108 emergency service, filling vacant posts in medical colleges and government hospitals, and other key points.

The meeting was attended by Arvind Singh Hyanki, Chairman of the State Health Authority, Secretary,  Health, R Rajesh Kumar, Additional Secretary, Health and CEO of SHA, Anand Srivastava, Additional Secretary, Health, Swati Bhadoria, Namami Bansal, Director General, Health, Dr Tara Arya, Director, Health, Dr Sunita Tamta, Dr Manish Upreti, CMO, Dehradun, Dr Sanjay Jain, CMO, Haridwar, Dr RK Singh, Principal of Doon Medical College, Dr Geeta Jain, Principal of Haridwar Medical College, Dr RS Raina, Additional Director, Medical Education, Dr RS Bisht, Joint Director Dr MK Pant, and other departmental officials. Other principals of medical colleges and CMOs participated in the meeting virtually.
