Yoga has reached every individual today through Prime Minister Modi’s efforts: Ganesh Joshi

Dehradun, 8 Dec: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi participated as the Chief Guest at the two-day Tons Himalayan Yoga Retreat 2024, held on Saturday at the Sub Area Auditorium in Garhi Cantt. The event began with lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi also paid tribute to the late Lieutenant Colonel Avneesh Pratap Singh by offering flowers before his portrait.

Minister Ganesh Joshi congratulated the organisers of the Tons Himalayan Yoga Retreat 2024 and extended his best wishes for the event. He stated that Uttarakhand, Land of the Gods, has always been home to sages and great saints who meditated in the Himalayan caves. He emphasised that yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s Rishi tradition, which not only enhances mental and spiritual growth but also keeps the body healthy. The yoga retreat was organised to spread this knowledge of yoga, with participants from various states of the country who are interested in yoga.

Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi further stated that due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the United Nations declared June 21 as International Yoga Day. He remarked that it is a matter of pride for every citizen of the country that yoga has gained international recognition, thanks to the visionary thinking of the Prime Minister.

He praised the Prime Minister’s efforts, saying that yoga has now reached every individual. Minister Joshi encouraged the yoga practitioners to connect with yoga and to inspire others to join the movement, committing to regular practice of yoga for the creation of a healthy and strong India.

At this event, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi also remembered the late Lieutenant Colonel Avneesh Pratap Singh, the husband of Sadhna, an officer in the Indian Army. He mentioned that Lieutenant Colonel Avneesh Pratap Singh passed away suddenly on March 8 of this year, and his loss is an irreparable one for the Indian Army, especially for the Artillery. Minister Joshi acknowledged that the officer was awarded the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Army Software Development, which was presented based on the recommendation of the Army Staff.

Among those present at the event were Swami Anantanand, Dr Radhika Nagar, Sadhna Singh, Sunil Pandey, Bhavna Sabharwal, Meenu Chadha, Laxmi Agarwal, and many others.
