Kotdwar, 10 Dec: The Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly and Kotdwar MLA, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, held a meeting on Tuesday at her residence in Nimbuchaud with Municipal Commissioner Vaibhav Gupta and Additional Superintendent of Police Chandramoh Singh Negi to strengthen the Kotdwar’s security.

During the meeting, she stated that Kotdwar, located on the border of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, is a crucial city where a large number of people come daily. Given the rising incidents of crime in recent times, the security challenges in Kotdwar have been increasing. To address these issues, she directed the municipal corporation and police administration to verify individuals coming to Kotdwar for business purposes. She particularly emphasised the verification of people coming for the weekly Mango and Sunday markets.

Bhushan also mentioned that strict action should be taken against those conducting illegal businesses in the city. This would not only improve the security system but also help curb criminal activities.

She described this initiative as a significant step towards providing a safe environment for the citizens of Kotdwar.

On this occasion, she urged the Municipal Corporation and police administration to work in coordination to make Kotdwar a safe and model city.
