Gov provides nutrition kits to 13 TB patients

Dehradun, 10 Jan: At a programme held at the Raj Bhavan here, today, Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) distributed monthly nutrition kits to 13 TB patients adopted under the National TB Eradication Programme. On this occasion, the Governor personally interacted with the patients, inquiring about their well-being and advising them to maintain regular nutritious diets and a balanced lifestyle during their treatment.

So far, 50 TB patients who were adopted by the Governor have fully recovered and become TB-free. As part of this important initiative, the Governor has now adopted 13 more TB patients, who were provided with monthly nutrition kits today. To date, the Governor has adopted a total of 63 patients as part of the Nixay Friend initiative.

The Governor stated that the goal is to make the state TB-free, and if every individual adopts one TB patient as a Nixay Friend to support their treatment and nutrition, significant success can be achieved in this direction. He emphasised that public participation is the foundation for TB eradication and urged all citizens to become Nixay Friends. He said that the fight against TB requires collective efforts from all sections of society and it is the collective responsibility to ensure the success of this campaign.

Present at the event were Senior Medical Officer Dr Mahavir Singh, Dr AK Singh, General Secretary of the TB Association of Uttarakhand Poonam Kimohti, and District Tuberculosis Officer Dr Manoj Verma.
