Dehradun, 13 Feb: The Minister of Tourism, Religious Affairs, Culture, Public Works, Irrigation, Panchayati Raj, Watershed, and Rural Development, Satpal Maharaj, today held a meeting with tourism department officials to discuss preparations and the framework for the upcoming International Yoga Festival, which will take place in Rishikesh from 1 to 7 March.
Minister Satpal Maharaj convened a meeting with tourism officers at the Directorate of Tourism in Garhi Cantt, here, where they discussed the event’s structure, management, and arrangements. He gave essential directions regarding the event and emphasised that the preparations should be thorough.
The minister stated that the International Yoga Festival would include various programmes related to yoga, meditation, health, and fitness, with yoga instructors from several countries participating. Therefore, he stressed that all arrangements must be in place well in advance.
Maharaj also mentioned that this festival would provide an opportunity to learn several important yogic practices and receive guidance from revered saints and yoga masters.
He directed that local artists and yoga instructors should be given priority at this event. The meeting was attended by Tourism Secretary Sachin Kurve, ACEO Abhishek Rohela, GMVN Managing Director Vishal Mishra, Special Officer Satish Bahuguna, and other tourism officials.
