On International Women’s Day, Governor unveils women centric “Gargi” Chatbot

Dehradun, 8 Mar: On the second day of Basantotsav, a special event was organized at Raj Bhawan on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) unveiled the AI-powered chatbot “Gargi Nari Shakti” at the event.

This chatbot will help women access legal assistance, career counseling, financial literacy, safety measures, and healthcare services through technology. The Governor expressed confidence that this initiative would empower women digitally and commended Siddharth Madhav and his team for developing this innovative chatbot.

The Governor praised the initiative of young minds Siddharth Madhav and felicitated him on the occasion. Also he promised all support for all his future endeavors.

The evening celebrations of Basantotsav featured various cultural performances, including a special Kathak presentation, “Shiv Tripund,” by Sadanand Vishwas’ Kathak Dharohar Group, and an enchanting musical performance by Upreti sisters, Jyoti and Neerja Upreti. The audience thoroughly enjoyed these mesmerizing performances.

In his address, the Governor highlighted the role of women in social and national development, stating that “Women are symbols of creation, strength, and values.” He emphasized that when given equal opportunities, women excel in every field.

With changing times, it is crucial for women to embrace technological advancements, and the “Gargi” chatbot will serve as a tool for their empowerment. He also stressed the importance of respecting and uplifting women in Indian culture, stating that, “Where women are honored, prosperity and progress follow naturally.”

Praising the contributions of Uttarakhand’s women, the Governor said they are not only strengthening families and society but also making significant strides in agriculture, business, education, defense, science, and technology.

The event was attended by First Lady Gurmeet Kaur, Hans Foundation Head Mata Mangla, Bhole Maharaj, Secretary to the Governor Ravinath Raman, Culture Secretary Yugal Kishore Pant, Additional Secretary to the Governor Swati S Bhadauria, Secretary Deepak Kumar, Chairman of Doon International Group DS Mann, Director General of UCOST Durgesh Pant his wife Reema, Culture Director Bina Bhatt, along with officials from the Horticulture Department and other dignitaries.
