Mussoorie, 27 Apr: St George’s College hosted its Proficiency Award Ceremony on 26 April, here.

The programme began with a prayer offered by Advay Agarwal. The School Choir presented ‘Be a Light’, a song of inspiration and hope.

Daniel Moris solemnly paid tribute to the late Pope Francis, commemorating his enduring legacy and selfless service to humanity. Floral offerings were laid in his honour as a mark of deep respect. Homage was also extended to the victims of the Pahalgam attack, in recognition of their tragic loss.

At the subsequent Award Ceremony, prizes were presented in the categories of Academics, Co-Curricular Activities and All-Round Excellence. Students were awarded certificates in recognition of their meritorious achievements during the Academic Year 2024.

In his address to the gathering, Brother Ramesh Amalanathan conveyed his heartfelt condolences on the passing of Pope Francis and expressed deep sorrow for the victims of the Pahalgam tragedy. He also extended his congratulations to all the prize winners. Brother Ramesh remarked that success is not merely an event, but a habit and he emphasised the importance of gratitude towards parents and teachers for their invaluable role in a student’s growth. He urged the students to focus on building strong character and to strive to become compassionate and responsible individuals.

The celebration concluded with the rendition of the School Song followed by the National Anthem.
