DEHRADUN, 30 Apr: A special edition of ‘Liminal Tides’ was gifted to Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd); and the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, by the Author, Soumitra Banerji, at the Raj Bhavan and the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday. He was accompanied by his wife, Sangeeta Banerji, Dr DK Gupta and his wife Dr Rashmi Gupta (Directors of Felix Hospitals of Noida) and Satish Sharma (Publisher & Editor of Garhwal Post).

He also discussed with them the initiative of floating a platform to recreate the efforts, pains and perseverance that the forefathers put in to gain independence, through the macabre phase of Partition. And to draw out the young adults from educational institutions and other audiences, to revisit stories of their own families, some of which would be published in the form of curated short stories book.

The Governor suggested naming the initiative ‘Making of Bharat’, which has been well accepted.
The Chief Minister suggested to also include a glimpse of today’s India, specifically the rapid progress made by the nation in the last decade to add on to the pride of independence.
The story of Liminal Tides will be the starting point of the initiative, and patronage of the Uttarakhand administration at the leadership level has been requested.
