Dehradun, 27 Apr: The hosts were the winner of the 23rd Asian Challenge, held at the White House Court at The Asian School.
Surpassing a formidable lineup of 12 competing institutions, St Joseph’s Academy seized the coveted Rolling Trophy along with a substantial cash prize of Rs 15,000. As per tradition, The Asian School never competes for the trophy therefore the rolling trophy and the cash prize were awarded to St Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun, which had secured the second position.
Ann Mary School, secured the position of first runners-up, winning a cash prize of Rs 5,000.

Renowned schools from Dehradun – Summer Valley, Ecole Globale International Girls’ School, St Joseph’s Academy, Ann Mary School, RIMC, DIS Riverside, Gyananda School, CJM, Olympus High, St Jude’s School, Mount Fort Academy and The Asian School participated. The participants spoke for and against the proposition- The UN can be judged as a failure.
The pinnacle of the event was marked by the announcement of the following accolades: Best Speaker (For) – Ranvijay Singh Balhara, The Asian School; Best Speaker (Against) – Rishab Khandka, Ann Mary School; Best Rebuttal (For) – Gurman Kaur Sahni, St Joseph’s Academy; Best Rebuttal (Against) – Anjuman Panwar, The Asian School; Best Team – St Joseph’s Academy.
The ceremonial inauguration was performed by the Principal of The Asian School and the panel of judges.
Speaking on the occasion, the Judges Sandeep Kumar (Special Educator), Dr Annie Singh (Educator) and Diwija Pande (Educator) congratulated the winners and said that the topic was immaculate and eloquently dealt with by the students.
Principal Ruchi Pradhan Datta gave away the prizes to the winners in the presence
Mukesh Nangia, Head, Senior School, Prachi Mehrotra, Headmistress, Surbhi Narula, Deputy Head Mistress, esteemed faculty members, esteemed guests, and the spirited student body.
The event culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by the Head Girl, Anvishita Yadav.
