Mussoorie, 23 Jul: An emotional programme was organised in the premises of Tilak Memorial Library here on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and Chandreshekhar Azad. The programme started with the national anthem and Vande Mataram. On this occasion, speakers, social workers, educationists and students garlanded the statue of Lokmanya Tilak. Also, tribute was paid to Bhagat Singh and Chandrashekhar Azad by offering flowers before their pictures installed on a special stage. The entire atmosphere resonated with the slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’.

On this occasion, advocate Alok Malhotra and social worker Mahimanand said that Tilak was the flame that shook the whole of India by giving the mantra, ‘Swaraj Mera Janam Sidh Adhikar Hai’. Bhagat Singh Azad taught the youth that it is a matter of pride to live and die for the country. They said that, today, when the country is moving towards modernity, it has become even more important to imbibe the ideals of these great men. Do not limit their sacrifice to books only but adopt it in your behaviour, they advised. Mussoorie’s historic Tilak Memorial Library, which itself is associated with the memory of Lokmanya Tilak, became the centre of this event. The organisers said that in future also the spirit of patriotism will be awakened among the youth through such seminars and thought symposia.
