Dehradun, 28 Jul: The Doon School hosted Brigadier Sudhir Chamoli, Commander of the 116 Infantry Brigade, for an insightful and inspiring session on Operation Sindoor. The session, held during Assembly on 28 July, was attended with great enthusiasm by students and staff alike.

Brigadier Chamoli, an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, has over two decades of distinguished service in the Indian Army. Commissioned into the 5th Battalion of the 5 Gorkha Rifles (Frontier Force) in December 1999, he has held numerous key operational and staff appointments across India and abroad including with the United Nations Mission in Lebanon and as the Public Relations Officer and Spokesperson of the Indian Army.

In his address, Brigadier Chamoli shared the genesis, objectives, and impact of Operation Sindoor, a joint operation launched by the Indian Armed Forces on 7 May 2025, in response to the Pahalgam terror attack of 22 April, which tragically claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians. Under the theme, “Forging One Force”, the operation showcased India’s tri-services synergy highlighting the strength, precision, and resolve of the Army, Navy, and Air Force working as one.

The session not only deepened awareness about India’s evolving security landscape but also inspired a strong sense of patriotism and appreciation for the armed forces among the Doon School community.

Headmaster, Dr Jagpreet Singh, thanked Brigadier Chamoli for his invaluable presence and for sharing the story of Operation Sindoor on behalf of The Doon School fraternity.
