TISMUN 3rd edition begins at Tula’s International School

DEHRADUN, 2 Aug: Tula’s International School commenced its 3rd edition of TISMUN (Tula’s International School Model United Nations) with a grand opening ceremony that brought together spirited young minds, experienced mentors, and visionary educators.
 Day one of TISMUN 2025 saw a diverse range of eight committees, each with unique global and national agendas, led by dedicated Chairs and Vice-Chairs. The UNSC (United Nations Security Council) focused on the agenda “The Rise of Non-State Armies: Regulating Militias, Gangs, and Terror Proxies,” and was led by Annika Gupta as chairperson and Mithoun as vice chairperson. The AIPPM (All India Political Party Meet) debated the agenda “Revisiting Reservation Policies in India: Evaluating the Need for Reform with Special Emphasis on the Role of Caste Census and EWS Reservations,” with Akshara Singh as chair and Achalraj Pandey as vice chair. The UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) deliberated on “Examining the Role of Drug Trafficking as a Tool of Foreign Policy and Economic Strategy by All Countries,” with Divy Singh as chair and Jasmine Arora as vice chair.
The ECOSOC (United Nations Economic and Social Council) addressed “Combating Illicit Financial Flows and Enhancing Financial Participation for Sustainable Development,” led by Tanmay Jangid as chair and Suhan Gupta as vice chair. The UNHRC (United Nations Human Rights Council) took up the agenda “Addressing the Impact of Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act on Human Rights,” chaired by Surbhi Chaudhary, who also serves as the Deputy Secretary-General of TISMUN 2025, and Simaya Jain as vice chair. The International Press had two committees—Videography and Journalism, chaired by Dhairyaraj with Nabh Jain and Justin Irom as vice chairs, and Caricature and Photography, led by Raj Chaudhary as chair and Aesa Sojitra as vice chair.
TISMUN 2025 also introduced two exclusive and innovative committees. The IPL (Indian Premier League Committee) focused on the “IPL Mega Auction 2026,” with Akshat Agarwal as chair and Aviral Shukla as vice chair. The IFCRC (Indian Films and Cultural Reforms Council) explored the agenda “Lights, Camera, Innovation: Reforming Indian Cinema Through Technology, Vision, and Challenging Nepotism,” chaired jointly by Nandini Jaiswal and Aashi Sinha.
Earlier, Chief Guest Dilip Kumar Panda, Principal of SelaQui International School, inspired the student delegates with his powerful address. He encouraged the youth to immerse themselves in the art of diplomacy and global dialogue, laying the foundation for the days ahead. Later the ceremony commenced with a music band performance followed by a dance sequence, both of which highlighted the rich talent, creativity, and cultural essence of Tula’s International School. This was followed by a school play that reflected on urgent global issues. Later, impactful speeches from dignitaries were held who shared insights on diplomacy, leadership, and the significance of youth participation in global affairs.
Panda inspired the student delegates with his powerful address. He encouraged the youth to immerse themselves in the art of diplomacy and global dialogue, laying the foundation for the days ahead. The highlight of the ceremony was the formal declaration of TISMUN 2025 as open by the Headmaster of Tula’s International School along with the Secretary-General of TISMUN, signaling the official commencement of the conference.
