Dehradun, 5 Aug: BJP President JP Nadda and BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt have expressed profound sorrow over the devastation caused by the cloudburst in the Dharali region of Uttarkashi, extending their condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the natural disaster and wishing a swift recovery for the injured.
In addition, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, several other union ministers and national leaders of the BJP, Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat, Garhwal MP Anil Baluni and Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal are amongst those who have expressed grief over the disaster in Dharali in district Uttarkashi.

Bhatt has appealed to local party workers who are safe to actively participate in the ongoing relief and rescue efforts, particularly by providing essential supplies such as food, water, medical assistance, and shelter to the affected population. Bhatt described the extent of damage in Dharali as deeply distressing and commended the state government for conducting relief operations with urgency. Teams from the Army, State Disaster Response Force, National Disaster Response Force, district administration, and other agencies are engaged in rescue and recovery work. Acting on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s directives, advanced disaster management machinery is being dispatched to the site. Bhatt further stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are closely monitoring the situation and receiving continuous updates on the relief measures.
Bhatt also appealed to the party workers to extend full cooperation with the government and administrative agencies in the rescue operations. He observed that the BJP workers are already assisting stranded residents and tourists by supplying food, water, and shelter. Offering his condolences to those who lost family members, Bhatt acknowledged the irreplaceable loss of life and assured that every possible support will be extended to the bereaved. He added that proper medical arrangements have been made for the injured and assured that both the government and the party stand firmly with the affected communities during this challenging time.
