No shortage of funds for sdevelopment of panchayats: Maharaj

Dehradun, 5 Aug: Newly elected representatives, victorious in the three-tier panchayat elections of Rudraprayag district, met State Panchayati Raj Minister Satpal Maharaj under the leadership of MLA Bharat Singh Chaudhary, Kedarnath MLA Asha Nautiyal, and BJP District President Bharat Bhushan Bhatt.

During the meeting, they unanimously expressed their trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and apprised the Minister of their region’s problems and priorities.

The newly elected block panchayat members from Agastyamuni and Jakholi blocks, who won in the three-tier panchayat elections of Rudraprayag district, met the Panchayati Raj Minister on Monday at his camp office on Subhash Road, under the leadership of MLA Bharat Singh Chaudhary, Kedarnath MLA Asha Nautiyal, and BJP District President Bharat Bhushan Bhatt. They unanimously expressed their faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and apprised the Minister of the issues and priorities of their areas.

On this occasion, Panchayati Raj Minister Maharaj congratulated all newly elected representatives on their new responsibilities and said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, ‘we must work for the development of the nation and the state. Therefore, we should unite and dedicate ourselves to serving the rural populace’.

Maharaj stated that the Modi government at the Centre has recently allocated Rs 193.84 crore to strengthen panchayats in Uttarakhand. With this, training programmes will be organised to enhance the capacity of newly elected panchayat representatives, along with initiatives to make panchayats self-reliant and developed. He said that panchayats are the first and foremost unit of development, and there will be no shortage of funds to make these units capable. He urged the representatives to ensure that the schemes of the central and state governments reach the grassroots level and are implemented transparently.

Those who met Panchayati Raj Minister Maharaj included BJP District In-Charge Balbir Ghuniyal, BKTC President Hemant Dwivedi, Agastyamuni Block Pramukh Election In-Charge Mahavir Singh Panwar, Jakholi Block Pramukh Election In-Charge Ramesh Maikhuri, District Panchayat Members Jayvardhan Kandpal, Subodh Bagwadi, Amit Maikhundi, District Media In-Charge Satendra Bartwal, Mandal Presidents Arjun Negi and Brijmohan Negi, along with a large number of newly elected block panchayat members of Agastyamuni and Jakholi.
