St George’s College Heritage Cup Soccer Tournament witnesses tough competition

Mussoorie, 7 Aug: St George’s College, Mussoorie, is holding the 52nd edition of the St George’s College Heritage Cup (aka Jackie) Invitational Soccer Tournament from 1 to 14 August. A total of 26 teams, comprising 15 clubs and 11 school teams, are participating in the tournament.

A total of four matches were played today.

In the first match, Navchetan Sports Club defeated Kyarkulli Sports Club, 2-0. For Navchetan Sports Club, the first goal was an own goal scored by Kyarkulli Sports Club in the 51^st minute and the second goal was scored by Sahil in the 58^th minute.

In the second match, Mussoorie United Football Club defeated Shiva Sports Club, 5-0.

For Mussoorie United Football Club, the goals were scored by Ayush Godiyal in the 7^th minute, Sahil Sonkar in the 27^th minute, Anurag in the 31^st and 46^th minutes and Pratap in the 37^th minute.

In the third match, Manorites defeated Mussoorie Boys Club, 3-0. For Manorites, the goals were scored by Arjun Veer in the 3^rd and 20^th minutes and Rajveer in the 64^th minute.

In the fourth match, Wynberg Allen School (A) defeated St George’s College (B) by 3-0.

For Wynberg Allen School (A), the goals were scored by Aayan Desai in the 4^th minute and Passang in the 7^th and 31^st minutes.

The referees for today’s matches were Abhi Ruchi Gurung, Pushkar Singh Gusain, Deepak Rawat, Prashant Bisht and Milan Chhetri.
