Haridwar, 1 Sep: Sonipat MP and former president of Haridwar Nagar Palika Satpal Brahmachari said today that the ‘Shri Panchayati Akhara Bada Udasin’, associated with the Udasin sect, has made a significant contribution in the propagation of Sanatan Dharma, which can never be forgotten. Satpal Brahmachari was speaking on the occasion of Udasin sect founder Sri Chand’s birth anniversary celebrations organised at the Akhara in Kankhal today.
This Akhara was established by Baba Pritam Das Maharaj at Har ki Pauri in Haridwar on Basant Panchami in 1825 AD. The guide and acharya of this Akhara was Sri Chand, the eldest son of Guru Nanak Dev. His 531st birth anniversary was celebrated with great pomp today at Shri Panchayati Udasin Bada located at Kankhal Rajghat.
On this occasion, a havan was performed in the Akhara this morning. After this, worship was done before the idol of Sri Chand at Shri Chandracharya Chowk, Ranipur.
On this occasion, Kothari Mahant Raghavendra Das Maharaj of the Akhara said that Sri Chand worked for social harmony. He removed the social inequalities prevailing in society.
On this occasion, Mahant Govind Das Maharaj said that the meaning of Udasin is to be seated in Brahma i.e. to be in Samadhi. This Akhara follows the traditions of Sanatan Dharma.
Shri Panchayati Udasin Bada Akhara is a worshipper of the Sanatani Panchdev Puja.
Mahant Suryansh Muni Maharaj said that, for the unity and integrity of society, Sri Chand had raised awareness against casteism, regionalism and untouchability. For social harmony, he united all sections, castes and people of different communities in the Udasin sect and went from village to village to spread his message, due to which his influence increased immensely.
Mahamandleshwar Hari Chetananand Maharaj said that Shri Panchayati Udasin Bada Akhara propagates the ideas of Sri Chand, while the Akhara also follows and propagates the Panchdev worship propounded by Sanatan Dharma. Along with spreading religious beliefs and spiritual ideas among the people, it also fulfils its social responsibilities.
On this occasion, Mahant Hanuman Das, Mahant Bhakt Ramdas, Mahant Mangal Das, Mahant Damodar Sharan, Mahant Jayendra Muni, Mahant Niranjan Das, Mahant Premdas, Mahant Seva Das, Mahant Vishnu Das, Mahant Kevalyanand, Mahant Muralidas, National President of All India Akhara Parishad and Mahant Ravindra Puri, Secretary of Panchayati Shri Mahanirvani Akhara, Mahant Ramratan Giri, Secretary of Panchayati Shri Niranjani Akhara, Kothari Mahant Jaswinder Singh Shastri of Shri Panchayati Nirmal Akhara, Sant Jagjit Singh Shastri Maharaj, President of Shri Nirmal Santpura, MLA Adesh Chauhan, former MLA Sanjay Gupta, Patanjali Mega Food Park CMD Ram Bharat, Akhilesh Shivpuri, social worker Jagdish Lal Pahwa, BJP leader Pramod Kumar Sharma, former President Sandeep Goyal, President of Kankhal Business Board Bhagwat Sharan Aggarwal, etc., were also present.
