DEHRADUN, 13 Sept: The biennial conference of the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal Mahanagar Unit, Dehradun, was held on Saturday, during which elections for the post of Mahanagar President were conducted. The contest was between Praveen Ramola and Meenakshi Ghildiyal. A total of 75 votes were cast on Friday, of which Praveen Ramola secured 51 votes while Meenakshi Ghildiyal received 24. With a margin of 26 votes, Praveen Ramola was declared the winner.
The election process was conducted peacefully under the supervision of Election Officer Pandit Bihari Lal Jagoori. The election in-charge was Deepak Rawat and the election observer was Pratap Singh Kunwar. The conference was convened by former Metropolitan President Vijendra Singh Rawat.
After his victory, Praveen Ramola said that he accepts the challenge of leading the Mahanagar unit with full responsibility. He stated that the goal is significant and the challenges are difficult, but he is determined to constitute executive committees in all 100 wards of the metropolis during his tenure. He emphasised that his primary aim is to establish the board of UKD in Dehradun and to make the organisation highly dynamic through continuous efforts. He appealed to the central office-bearers and workers of the metropolitan unit to extend full cooperation in strengthening the party. He expressed gratitude and thanks to all supporters.
The programme was attended by senior leaders including Rampal, DD Sharma, Geeta Bisht, Shakuntala Rawat, Jabbar Singh Pawel, Pramila Rawat, Bahadur Singh Rawat, Rajeshwari Rawat, Kendra Pal Topwal, Ashish Negi, Vilas Gaud, Anoop Bisht, Jitendra Singh, Sumit Dangwal and several others.
